DIY DECOUPAGE STORAGE BOXES.

Diy Decoupage Storage Boxes using floral gift wrap.

I don't know about you but I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to crafting supplies so I'm always on the lookout for anything I can use to store them in. I spotted these black storage boxes in Ikea on the weekend and knew they'd be perfect for keeping all my random bits and pieces in. The only problem is they're a bit plain. Luckily I remembered about this piece of gift wrap I'd been saving and so out came the pva glue and scissors and this pretty floral decoupage storage box was born.

To make your own Diy Decoupage Storage Box you will need:

Plain boxes to decorate (I got mine from Ikea, they were £1.90 for 2).

Gift wrap or other decorative paper.

Mod Podge/Pva Glue.

Scrap paper so you don't get glue all over your work surface.

Scissors.

And a paintbrush.

1. Start by cutting out your chosen images from the decorative paper. I chose these black and white flowers from a piece of gift wrap but you could use photos, scrapbooking paper or anything else you have lying around the house.

2. Arrange your images on the box first. It's always a good idea to know roughly where everything is going before you start.

3. Apply a thin layer of glue to the box and another layer to the back of your image. Place the image onto the box and press into place. Use your fingers to gently smooth out any air bubbles or wrinkles.

4. Repeat until your box is covered and you're happy with the layout.

5. Seal the entire surface in a final layer of glue making sure all the paper is stuck to your box.

6.Leave to dry.
