Halloween Sequin Pumpkins.
With Halloween only a few days away why not add a little bling to your decorations this year and make these DIY sequin pumpkins? Pumpkins are always fun to decorate but so much more fun when you add some sparkle.
I picked up some of these mini pumpkins on the weekend and even though I had no idea what I was going to do with them I knew I had to have them. They were only 89p each. Bargain!
After sharing some of my favourite DIY decorated pumpkins yesterday I decided to go the no-carve route. I'd seen a rhinestone spiderweb pumpkin that I really liked and decided to make my own version using pins and sequins.
It's really easy I promise although a little time-consuming. Why not pop some spooky songs and get crafting.
Supplies:
Mini Pumpkins or Gourds
How to make Sequin Pumpkins.
1. Start by mapping out your design.
For the spider web pumpkin, you can follow the natural lines of the pumpkins. For a more complicated design, you can use a pencil and drawer on your design first.
2. Attach each sequin to a pin and press it into the pumpkin.
3. Make all the vertical lines of the web first.
4. Add the curved horizontal web strands.
5. Display your finished sequin covered pumpkin.
‘Boo!’ Sequin Pumpkin.
To make the boo pumpkin use a pencil to draw on the design and then used this as a guide for the sequins.
Scary Face Sequin Gourd.
I liked that this squash had scarred battered skin so I sketched on a classic scary carved pumpkin face. Fill in the places you'd normally carve with sequins for a sparkly scary face.
