I’m so excited to share this recipe with you. I’ve been making these truffles for quite a few years and they never fail. I’ve tried a few different methods but this is the one I find the easiest.

These easy chocolate truffles are made by melting chocolate, butter, cocoa powder and cream together to make a simple dark chocolate ganache. There’s no baking required so minimal effort although you will need to heat the cream.

They’re perfect for a dinner party, a wedding favour or as a sweet gift for any special occasion. If you want to keep things really simple and stress-free this is the recipe for you.

1. Add the cream and butter to a saucepan and simmer gently for a couple of minutes until hot.

2. Take a heatproof bowl and add the roughly chopped chocolate.

3. Pour the heated cream and butter mixture into the bowl.

4. Add 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder.

Cream and chocolate mixture being stirred in glass bowl.

5. Using a wooden spoon or plastic spatula stir until the mixture is smooth and fully combined. The heat from the cream will melt the chocolate and form a smooth ganache.

Don’t worry if the mixture looks separated at first. Keep stirring and it will come together.

6. Chill the mixture for 2 hours in the fridge.

7. Scoop out the mixture using a spoon and shape it into a smooth ball using your hands. Be warned, this can get messy!

If your mixture is too cold to shape you may need to let your mixture sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes first depending on how cold your fridge is.

8. Roll in cocoa powder to finish.

9. Dust off any excess cocoa and store in the fridge.

10. Serve the finished truffles in a bowl or a cute mini truffle box. And if you want them to look extra fancy make sure to get your hands on some of these gold paper candy cups.
