Even though these hearts look complicated, don't worry they're actually really simple. You don't need any special origami skills to make your own paper hearts.
Each one of these hearts takes a single sheet of paper and only a few minutes to fold which makes them the ideal DIY if you’re short on time. They're a great last-minute Valentine's paper craft.
Each heart is made using a rectangle instead of a standard square piece of origami paper which makes them perfect for making out of A4 paper. Jot down your note or hidden message on the back and fold it into a pretty paper heart.

Supplies:
You can make them with any decorative or plain paper you have on hand. I used scrapbook paper for mine but it can be a bit tricky to fold as it’s thicker than origami paper. Any thin paper will work.
If you don’t have any large origami paper on hand here are a few alternatives that you probably already have at home.

Follow the steps below to learn how to make your own origami paper hearts this Valentine's Day.
How To Fold A Heart With A4 Paper.
1. Take your A4 piece of paper and fold down the top right corner to the left edge.
2. Unfold and do the same on the other side.
3. When you open it up you should have 2 diagonal creases that make a pyramid shape.
4. Pull the top of the paper down and allow the sides to collapse in.
5. Press down and crease to form a triangle.
6. Fold the right corner of the triangle up towards the top peak.
7. Do the same on the other side.
8. Take the right-hand edge of the paper and fold it into the centre.
9. Repeat and fold the left side of the paper into the middle.
10. Flip your paper over and fold the bottom edge up to meet the base of the triangle.
11. Take the first layer of the top of your triangle and fold it down.
This will form an upside-down triangle pocket.
12. Now take the right bottom corner and fold towards the centre.
This part can be a little tricky as there is a small flap underneath that will want to fold up at the same time so make sure to only fold the top layer forward.
13. Tuck the corner into the triangle pocket and fold and crease.
14. Do the same on the opposite side.
15. You should now be left with 2 triangle flaps sticking up at the top of the heart shape.
Take these top flaps and fold them down at an angle.
16. Tuck the tips into the pocket and press flat to finish.
