HAPPY NEW YEAR AND THE BEST OF 2017.

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all had a lovely break and got to spend time with friends and family. Before we dive head first into 2018 I wanted to take a few minutes to look back at some exciting things that happened last year.
If you've been following along with the blog for a while now you probably noticed that things were a little different last Summer. There were a lot less craft tutorials, some old favourites made a reappearance and I ended up sharing a lot more of what other talented people were making instead of what I was making. There was kind of a big reason for this ...
I had a baby!
While I was pregnant my partner and I talked about how much we wanted to share both on social media and this blog of our little boy's life and decided we wanted to keep him off it as much as possible. So while he won't be making a lot of appearances here on the blog it was beginning to feel a little weird that he hadn't even been mentioned so I wanted to introduce you all to him. He is after all the best thing I've made and sharing the things I've made was the whole reason I started this blog in the first place.
I decided to take 5 months maternity leave from the blog over the Summer and pop in on occasion. Here in the U.K. you're allowed to work 10 'keeping in touch' days while on maternity leave and I planned to use those to update the blog. But it turns out having a baby is kinda hard work, who knew, 😉 and in the end I used 0 of my K.I.T. days. Luckily I wrote a lot of blog posts in advance, 65 to be precise and this is what you read over the Summer.
The other half has been on Paternity leave for the last 16 weeks which has meant I've been able to start working on the blog again. Sadly, he's now returned back to work and I'm about to start figuring out what working from home and looking after my baby boy will look like. So if I'm a little slow replying to comments and emails please bear with me as it probably means the little one is refusing to take a nap.
As well as having a baby there were a lot of exciting things happening here on the blog. I was lucky enough to have my work published in not one but two magazines. I was featured in the special papercrafts edition of Mollie Makes and made the cover of a German magazine Made In Paper. But the highlight of the year was most definitely being shortlisted for a best of Pinterest award back in April. You all know how much I love Pinterest so you can imagine how thrilled I was.
And finally, I thought it would be fun to round up the top 10 posts from 2017 (totally unscientifically based on Google Analytics, Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram and....well, you get the idea).

All that's left to say is thank you so much for all your support in 2017. I'm so excited for what the next year will bring. I've got some exciting things planned, a blog redesign, lots more craft projects and some more printables so make sure to stick around. 2018, let's do this.
