DIY Mini Notebook.

You know I’m all about quick and easy crafts, and today, I’ve got something so fun for you that I can't wait to share! If you’ve ever wanted to make the cutest little notebooks, this post is definitely for you!

If you’re like me, sometimes you just want a project you can finish in a flash, right? These mini notebooks can be made in about 10 minutes using just a single sheet of paper—no glue and only a little bit of cutting!

And guess what? I’ve even got a free printable template to make it even simpler!

There's no glue or tape needed. Just print out the template, cut it, and fold it before decorating it with stickers, washi tape, or your own creative doodles.

Mini DIY Notebooks.

These mini notebooks are not only cute but also surprisingly useful. They were one of my favourite school crafts to make when I was younger. You can make them for yourself and your kids, or as cute little gifts for friends.

And hey, once you start, don’t be surprised if you find yourself making a whole stack of these tiny cuties! They’re perfect for making quick notes (toss one in your purse for grocery lists or reminders).

Use as doodle books for kids (or adults!), they're great for on-the-go sketching. They also make fantastic little handmade gifts for friends, teachers, or co-workers!

Printable Pocket Notebooks.

The template makes it easy to turn a single piece of paper into a mini notebook with six pages. It comes in two versions, a simple design with the word 'Notes' on the cover and a blank cover that can be turned into anything you like.

Print out the template at full size or 100%. You can use white or coloured paper or a thin card stock like I did. Just be careful not to use a thick card as it will be too bulky when folded and make a stiff, hard-to-close notebook.

If you want to use your booklet as a mini journal, scrapbook paper makes a great alternative to plain paper. You can glue a scrap of paper inside the back cover for a pocket where you can stash little notes and don't forget to test out different patterned paper for a fun twist.

Supplies:

  • Printable Template (You can download it for free below!)

  • One Sheet Of Paper (I recommend regular printer paper or lightweight cardstock, but feel free to experiment!)

  • Scissors

  • A cutting Mat

  • A Bone Folder (optional, but it helps with those crisp folds!)

How to make a Mini Notebook (without glue).

1. Download the free template by signing up using your email address below.

2. Print out the template onto regular printer paper or thin cardstock.

3. Carefully cut along the solid lines on the template.

4. Fold the template in half horizontally with the printed side on the outside.

Run a bone folder (or butter knife) over each crease to get a crisp fold.

5. Unfold the paper. You should now have a crease across the middle.

6. Fold the paper in half vertically, as shown above, again with the printed side on the outside.

7. Unfold the paper. It should now have two creases that divide the page into four sections.

8. With the printed side facing up fold the outer edge of one side of the paper in to meet the middle crease.

9. Repeat and fold the opposite side of the paper in to meet the middle crease.

10. Unfold the template. It should now be divided into eight equal sections.

11. Fold the template in half vertically again with the printed side facing out.

12. Using a pair of scissors cut the horizontal centre crease halfway until it meets the middle of the folded paper. DO NOT cut past the centre point.

13. Unfold the paper completely. You should now have a slit in the middle.

14. With the printed side facing out fold the paper in half horizontally.

15. Press the sides of the paper in towards the middle.

16. The sides of the book will collapse in the middle to form an 'x' shape, as shown above.

17. Then find the front and back covers and fold the mini book so the covers are on the outside.

18. Press the book flat. Once you have the booklet shape you may need to tidy up the folds with a bone folder.

20. And voilà! You’ve got yourself a cute little notebook that you made with just one sheet of paper.

I hope you love making these mini notebooks as much as I do. I mean, who doesn't love mini-things? You can tuck these little guys into your bag, stick one on your desk, or hand them out as gifts.
