How to Play Mad Libs.

Mad Libs are one of the easiest printable New Year’s Eve games to play! Here’s how it works:

  1. Choose a Story: Start with one of the New Year Mad Libs sheets that has a pre-written story with several blank spaces. The blanks will require specific types of words, such as nouns, verbs, or adjectives.

  2. Fill in the Blanks: One player, called the “reader,” asks the other players for words to fill in the blanks. The reader doesn’t reveal the context of the story, so players just supply random words based on the type requested (e.g., a "noun" or "adjective").

Types of Words Needed:

  • Noun: A person, place, or thing (e.g., “confetti,” “champagne,” or “party hat”).

  • Verb: An action word (e.g., “celebrate,” “dance,” or “pop”).

  • Adjective: A word that describes something (e.g., “sparkly,” “wild,” or “funny”).

  1. Read the Story: After all the blanks are filled, the reader shares the complete silly story aloud. The unexpected combinations of words are what makes it so funny!

Example:
If the story asks for an adjective and a noun, you might end up with something like this:
"The sparkly dog danced on a balloon at midnight!"

Whether you’re reminiscing about the past year or getting excited for the upcoming year, New Year Mad Libs are the perfect way to make your New Year's celebration the best one yet!
