Printable Easy Summer Craft.

I loved making handprint art with my little boy when he was younger. It's such a fun and simple kids' craft.

We all know kids love getting their hands dirty (literally!) and this is a great way to let them have fun with paint and practice those fine motor skills.

It's also a great activity to do both at home and in the classroom and an easy DIY project that is perfect for keeping little hands occupied on those days when you're stuck in the house.

My personal favourite is the flamingo. It’s colourful, cute, and screams summer fun! You could even add some glitter paint to the water to make the finished piece really sparkle.

How to make Summer Handprint Flamingo and Ice Cream Cones.

1. Print the Free Template: Start by downloading our free handprint template by signing up using your email address below. Print it out on white paper or card. This will serve as the base of your craft.

2. Paint and Press: Paint your child’s hands with their favourite colours (non-toxic tempera paints are a great choice) and press them onto the card stock, forming the shape of the flamingo wings or the ice cream. Gently press your child's hand down on the paper for the best results.

Top Tip: Make your flamingo look extra snazzy by adding a second handprint in another shade pf pink!

3. Add Details: Use markers, stickers, or glitter to add fun details to your crafts. For the flamingo, add a googly eye. For the ice cream cone, decorate it with sprinkles and a cherry on top!

4. Dry and Display: Once the paint is dry display them in a frame, pop them on the fridge or add them to a memory book or scrapbook.

Top tip: Write the date and your child's age on the back of each craft. It's a lovely way to be able to look back and remember exactly when it was created.

And there you have it, a fun activity for the whole family!
