DIY Valentine Box.

I don't know about you, but I'm all about adding a personal touch to my gifts. A blank free template you can customise by printing onto any kind of coloured card or scrapbook paper is the perfect way to do this.

I went with some colourful pink and yellow patterned scrapbook paper for my heart treat boxes. You could go with the classic red, pink or even gold if you want to be extra fancy.

You can get creative with embellishments like stickers, sequins, ribbons, or bows and even add some glitter for extra sparkle. If you're crafting with kiddos, this is an easy project to get them involved with.

Tailor the decorations to fit a specific theme or interest. For example, if your recipient loves nature, you could decorate the box with paper flowers or leaf cutouts. If they're a movie buff, you could add images of their favourite films or quotes from romantic movies.

There's something so special about receiving a handmade gift, and I'm sure your loved ones will appreciate the extra effort you put into making something from the heart.

How To Make A Paper Heart Box.

1. Download the PDF printable by signing up using your email address below. It makes a 2-inch square box with a heart-shaped lid.

2. Print it out into the back (non-patterned side) of your chosen scrapbook paper.

3. Cut out the template using a pair of scissors or a craft knife and steel ruler. You'll need to cut along the dashed lines on each half of the heart.

4. Score along all the lines using a bone folder and a ruler. If you don't have a bone folder an old ballpoint pen is a great alternative.

5. Fold along all the scored lines.

To get crisp edges to your box you can go over all the folds with a bone folder or if you don’t have one of those a butter knife is a good alternative.

6. Assemble by applying glue to each flap and folding and sticking them together to make the sides of your box.

7. Fold in the two rectangle shaped flaps.

8. To close your box all you have to do is slide the two heart pieces together along the cut dashed lines to form the top of the box.

9. Once your box is all assembled, it's time to fill it with all sorts of Valentine's Day goodies.

Who wouldn't love to receive a small treat gifted in a pretty homemade heart-topped box? Use them for Valentine's Day, Weddings, Mother's Day, School Parties or any other day of the year!
