DIY Rectangle Gift Box.

I love to add a personal touch to my gifts, and nothing does that quite like a handmade box. These rectangle gift boxes are not only super cute but also incredibly easy to make.

The blank template means you don't have to be a paper crafting expert to whip up these boxes. It's as easy as print, cut, fold along the dotted lines and glue.

This box is a bit smaller than the ones I've made in the past. You can find all my DIY Gift Boxes here. Once folded the finished rectangular shape box measures 3.5 x 2.5 inches.

They're a great thing to have on hand for those last-minute presents. And perfect for holding small gifts like jewellery, a couple of pretty tealights or chocolates.

They also make fantastic wedding favours. They can even be used to hold gift cards and business cards.

Creating your own printable gift boxes is a great way to add a personal touch to special occasions. Whether it's a birthday, wedding or holiday, these boxes can be made to match any theme.

You can customise your box by printing it onto any kind of coloured card or your favourite scrapbook paper. I used some gorgeous stars, spots and stripes paper from Violet Studios that is sadly no longer available but you can find other gorgeous scrapbook paper here.

Make unique gift boxes for holidays – think spooky designs for Halloween, festive patterns for Christmas, or pastel colours for Easter. They make adorable holiday decorations or advent calendar containers.

Use markers, stickers, ribbons or any other decorations to personalise your box. You can match it to a party theme, add someone's name, or just make it super colourful. I love the idea of topping it with an origami bow.

Supplies:

How To Make A Quick Paper Box.

1. Download the PDF printable by signing up using your email address below. It makes a 3.5 x 2.5-inch rectangular box.

2. Print it out into the back (non-patterned side) of your chosen scrapbook paper.

As much as I love scrapbook paper (you just can't beat the colours and patterns) it's not the strongest of things, it is paper after all so you may need to reinforce the bottom of your box depending on what it's holding.

3. Cut along the solid black lines using a pair of scissors or a craft knife and steel ruler.

4. Score along all the dashed lines using a bone folder and a ruler. If you don't have a bone folder an old ballpoint pen makes a great alternative.

5. Fold along all the scored lines.

To get crisp edges to your box you can go over all the folds with a bone folder or if you don’t have one of those a butter knife will also work.

6. Assemble by applying glue to the 4 small side flaps and folding and sticking them together to make the sides of your box.

Do not apply any glue to the 2 longer side flaps as these are what help keep your lid in place when closed.

9. Once your box is all assembled, it's time to fill it with your gift.

Who wouldn't love to receive a small treat gifted in a pretty homemade gift box? Use them for Valentine's Day, Weddings, Mother's Day, School Parties or any other day of the year!
