Father’s Day is just around the corner, and I’m super excited to share an adorable and easy-to-make printable handprint craft with you. Handprint crafts make the perfect gift and are a great way to capture a moment in time and create a keepsake art that will be cherished for years to come.

Plus, they’re a fun and easy craft that kids of all ages can enjoy. Little ones can enjoy the sensory experience of painting their hands, while older kids can get creative with decorating and personalising their crafts.

I love making handprint art with my little boy. They're such a fun and simple kids' craft and make lovely handmade gifts.

You don’t need to be an expert or have a bunch of fancy supplies. All you need is a printer, some cardstock, and a few basic art supplies like a foam brush and some kid-friendly paint.

The printable template makes it easy to turn your child’s handprint into a cute fishing theme craft. Print out the free template ('Dad, you're a catch') and have your child stamp their handprint on the front to make the fish, and voila! You've got a great Father’s Day craft that doubles as a thoughtful gift.

It's a great project to do both at home and in the classroom and an easy DIY project that is perfect for kids of all ages.

How To Make Printable Handprint Father's Day Crafts.

  1. Print the Template: Start by downloading our free handprint template by signing up using your email address below. This will serve as the base of your craft.

  2. Paint and Press: Paint your child’s hands with their favourite colours (non-toxic tempera paints are a great choice) and press them onto the card stock, forming the shape of the fish. Gently press their hand down onto the paper.

  3. Dry and Frame: Let the paint dry and you have a great gift for mum.

Optional extra: Stick a cute googly eye to really make your craft pop/

Top tip: Make sure to write the date and your child’s age on the back of each craft or add a special message and the date with a black marker.

It’s a wonderful way to look back and remember exactly when it was made.
