Adult Colouring Pages.
So, I’ve become a little obsessed with colouring lately. Have you been bitten by the bug yet? It’s fast becoming one of my favourite past-times.
Colouring is a fantastic hobby for people of all ages. All you need are some coloured pencils and a colouring book (or a FREE printable like this one 😉) to get started. You get to have fun, create beautiful artwork, relieve stress and be creative all at the same time.
Valentine’s Day Colouring Page.
With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, I thought I would combine my love for colouring with my love for well,…love and make a Valentine heart colouring page.
You can download the printable PDF by signing up below. It’s totally FREE and the best thing is that once you’ve downloaded it to your computer or phone you can print it out as many times as you like.
Break out those pinks and reds for Valentine’s Day or change up the colours and share the love all year round. Use them for anniversaries, birthdays, special occasions or simply because they’re just really, really pretty (even if I do say so myself).
What Paper Should I Use for Printing my Colouring Pages?
To print your pages I recommend lightweight cardstock (80 lb) as I find standard printer paper (typically 20 - 40 lb) very thin.
When the paper is thicker it makes it easier to blend colours if you’re using colouring pencils and makes the colours more vibrant.
Here are a few of my favourites:
If you’re on a budget the House of Card & Paper A4 160 gsm Card - White (Pack of 50 Sheets) can’t be beaten. In fact, it’s what I used to print the colouring page on for this post. It’s a bargain for 50 sheets.
For anyone who wants to spend a bit more, I recommend Crafters Companion Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium Cardstock. You don’t get as many sheets and it is expensive but if you’re wanting to print and colour a page for a special occasion or gift you might want to splash out.
What Coloured Pencils Should I Use?
When it comes to coloured pencils there are a lot to choose from. From the cheapest of cheap to the super expensive.
First up the super expensive:
The Mid-Range:
Faber-Castell Colour Pencils (Pack of 60) (These are the ones I have and used to colour heart you see in this post).
Cheap as Chips:
And don’t be afraid to experiment. You can try different types of paper and lightweight cardstock (textured paper, watercolour paper, super smooth paper) and try markers, gel pens, watercolour markers and even pastels.
