Valentine's Day Origami Ideas.
Valentine's Day is nearly here but you still have plenty of time to make the day special with one of these quick and easy origami projects.
To help get you started I’ve compiled a list of over 30 of the best Valentine-themed origami projects. No special folding techniques are needed.
I’ve tried to include something for all skill levels so even if you’ve never tried your hand at origami before you’ll still be able to try some of these projects. Once you get the basics down you can make a cute origami heart in a couple of minutes.
Origami Valentine's Day Crafts.
You can't have Valentine's Day without an origami heart. As I've made quite a few different types of paper hearts over the years I've made sure to include them all below.
There are super simple origami hearts for the beginner and the more complicated 3D modular origami for someone with a bit more experience.
Try a 3D puffy heart or pretty blossom heart with its flower-like centre that can be made using dollar bills (a personal favourite). You can even fold an origami envelope out of a heart-shaped piece of paper.

What To Do With Your Valentine's Origami.
Once you've mastered your chosen origami models you can turn them into lovely Valentine's Day decorations. Hang them as a garland, pop them in Valentine's Day cards, tie them to a bunch of flowers, use them as gift tags, bookmarks and more.
They're so much fun and make great gifts for friends and family all year round. Check out some of my favourite ideas below:
Create Handmade Greeting Cards: Fold origami hearts, flowers and bows to embellish handmade origami Valentine's Day cards. Add a personal message inside to make it extra special.
Decorate Your Space: Use your origami creations to decorate your home or workspace. Hang origami heart garlands, place an origami rose in a vase, or scatter little hearts on the table for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner.
Origami Bouquets: Instead of traditional flowers, craft an origami bouquet using paper flowers like roses or lilies. This thoughtful gesture will last much longer than real flowers.
Write Love Letters: Fold a sweet origami heart envelope and tuck in sweet love notes or thoughtful messages.
Personalise Gift Wrapping: Use origami to create unique gift toppers or embellishments for your Valentine's Day presents.
Make Origami Photo Frames: Frame your favourite pictures with origami borders or frames. It's a creative way to showcase your cherished memories.
Craft Origami Mobiles: Create a mobile using origami hearts, stars, or even a pretty pink origami bat. Hang it in your home for a whimsical and romantic decoration.
Make Unique Gifts: Fold an origami box to hold small gifts like chocolates, jewellery, or love notes. Pop an origami heart bookmark in your loved one's favourite book. The effort put into creating a handmade origami gift adds a personal touch that your loved one will cherish.
The Best Origami Paper.
As most of these projects require only a square piece of paper (sometimes scissors, a little glue and some pens to decorate) it makes them a super affordable way to make Valentines for all your friends, family and loved ones.
Although I recommend using origami paper (you can even get a cute Valentine’s version) for any paper folding project, here are a few alternatives that you probably already have on hand.
Regular Printer Paper,
Gift Wrap,
Scrapbook Paper,

And Newspapers.
I even have some printable origami paper you can download and use for FREE. Simply download, print and cut into 7x7-inch squares.
