Father’s Day is only a couple of weeks away and I know we’re all on the hunt for the perfect gift to show our dads just how much we appreciate them. If you’re looking for a fun and creative project to make with the kids, I’ve got just the thing for you: a printable Father’s Day toolbox craft!
Last year I shared my Printable Father's Day Cards that you can colour. This year I wanted to put a twist on the usual Father's Day cards and create something that is not only a card and a fun craft but also a fantastic homemade gift.
All you need is a printer and a few simple materials that you probably already have at home. There's space to add your own special message or use one of the pre-written messages.
Father's Day Toolbox Card.
The toolbox card includes 3 different messages to choose from as well as a blank toolbox front with space to fill with your own message or maybe even a hand-drawn picture of Dad. Choose from 'Happy Father's Day' 'Dad. you're the best!' or 'Dad, no one measures up to you.'
The entire card can be coloured in with crayons, markers, coloured pencils or even watercolour paints. You can change up the colours to include Dad's favourite colours or copy the ones I've shown below.

And the best part? It isn't just limited to celebrating Father's Day—it can also make an excellent gift for birthdays! By simply adjusting the personalised message, this printable toolbox can be transformed into a birthday surprise for any dad, granddad, or handyman in your life.
Fill it with a gift card to Dad's favourite store, some Dad jokes jotted down on the back of each tool or even a heartfelt note for a unique and memorable present.

Colouring Pencils, Markers or Crayons

Glue Stick or Double Sided-Tape
How to make a fun Toolbox Craft for Father’s Day.
1. The first thing you need to do is download and print the Father’s Day Toolbox template.
2. Use markers or coloured pencils to colour in your toolbox and tools.
3. Carefully cut out all the toolbox pieces.
Take your time, especially around the edges. If you’ve got little ones helping, you might want to handle the tricky parts.
Assemble your toolbox.
4. Choose your toolbox front and your Father's Day message or write on your own on the blank tool box label. You can also choose to write a message on the back of the toolbox.
5. Use a glue stick or double-sided tape to secure the edges by glueing the front of the toolbox to the back to form a pocket that holds the tools.
6. Pick your paper tools and slide them into the toolbox.
Optional extras: Add a gift card or a few coupons for chores or fun activities you can do together.
